Greenbank Country House

Greenbank Country House is a lovely Victorian house which is quietly situated in its own grounds in the heart of Borrowdale.

It is 3.5 miles south of Keswick, ideally situated for fell-walking, climbing and touring the Lakes. Or you can simply relax in the lounges or grounds of Greenbank.

The rooms in the house are spacious and very comfortable. All 8 rooms are ensuite with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and clock radios. The 5 superior rooms are larger and have magnificent lake and fell views as well as TV.

There are two lounges with log fires, both of which are non-smoking, that guests may use at any time of day and there is also an Honesty Bar.

Our guests are offered a tray of Tea or Coffee on arrival.

Greenbank has a very relaxed atmosphere. We have lots of walking books and maps to give you ideas during your stay with us and we are happy to offer you information about suitable places to dine.

Sample Menu A Selection of Juices Grapefruit Segments Prunes Fresh Fruit Yogurts Choice of Breakfast Cereals Full Grill Tomato, Bacon, Sausage, Beans, Mushrooms, Hash Browns, varied each morning with either: Fried Egg, Scrambled Egg, Poached Egg or Boiled Eggs. Wholemeal and White Toast Selection of Preserves and Honey Tea/Coffee Herbal Teas (Decaffeinated available) Kippers, Porridge and Croissants need to be requested the night before.
